A warm-season perennial grass used for forage, prairie restoration, and in some cases bio-energy production.

Although it is very drought tolerant, Switchgrass prefers low, moist ground but can grow on various soil types. Due to its height and deep root system, switchgrass can become dominant over other natives over time.

Ideal Conditions:

  • Plant 5-6 PLS lbs per acre late May-July or frost seed December-February
