Plant Rio in full sun when soil temps hit 65°F and rising. Use 2–3 lbs of seed per 1,000 sq ft and keep the soil lightly moist until seedlings emerge in 10–14 days. Once established, mow between 0.4–1 inch and apply 3–5 lbs of nitrogen per season—mow more often for a finer, denser turf.
