Creeping Red Fescue

A fine-bladed turf grass that is primarily used in the northern transition zone and northern United States.

Description

Although it is classified as a Fescue, Creeping Red Fescue does not have a deep root system when compared to KY31 Tall Fescue or turf-type varieties. Because of this trait, it is mostly used in shaded areas or in mixes.

Ideal Conditions:

  • Plant 3-5 lbs per 1000 square feet March through May or September through October
