Lignin amounts in Ameristand 480 HVX RR have been found to be reduced by 12% – 20% when compared to conventional alfalfas at the same stage of maturity. Due to this new technology, farmers can maintain a normal harvest schedule and obtain a higher quality or chose to delay harvest for up to 7 days for a higher yield potential without sacrificing quality. This variety has been found to have a higher RFQ value and increased digestibility when compared to conventional varieties.
