Description

Highly palatable grass that is best suited for hay or silage. It can be used for pastures but overgrazing can be a problem. Try to leave 4-5 inches for regrowth.

It is better suited for cooler climates. However, smooth brome is extremely drought tolerant. Extreme humidity can cause disease issues.

It can be used for waterways due to deep root system.

A clean planting bed is suggested.

Due to brome being slow to establish, it is recommended to plant brome at a rate of 15 to 25 pounds per acre February through April or late August through September. Plant at least 6 weeks before killing frost when fall planting.
